We can't say enough about Chocolate Chip. She was found as a stray and it appears that she was well cared for. Like most rabbits she doesn't really enjoy being picked-up but she is getting more used to it. She really enjoyed playing with a variety of toys in our Rabbit Romper Room. She definitely enjoys being petted.
Like all rabbits she'll need time outside of her cage or x-pen to burn off energy and to do some bunny binky's! A long hallway or a room she hasn't been in before will do the trick. Getting out of her enclosure for 2-3 hours a day is critical. Not only does it help with boredom, but it helps with moving food through her delicate system.
She should eat unlimited amounts of Timothy and/or Orchard Grass hay, 2-3 tablespoons of pellets (no dried fruit or nut mixes), a small handful of veggies and an occasional piece of fruit as a treat. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make, and not one to be taken lightly. But just look at this charming bunny and you'll see that she's worth the time and energy!
